I have the 12 volt plug, but it only works with the sled going... which is useless cause I can't have the gps turning off and losing my back tack on the GPS.

Any way to fix this or I need to hard wire in a new 12 volt hook up?

Thanks

Without knowing anything about your GPS, check the owners manual and see if there is a way to set it up so that it auto switches to battery power when 12 volt DC is not available. I did this on my Garmin GPS. It switches power sources without me having to touch a thing while riding.

Sorry its a Magellan triton 400.

I'd rather not depend on that , the last sled I had I put a battery on it just for the gps. I ride only back country, sometimes with out a tree for miles. I'd like to have my GPS on all the time. I think I'll just pug a 12volt plug in on the battery and enjoy the machine.

You may not have to install a fuse as your cig power cable may already have one.
