I purchased a Kodak PlaySport video camera for hunting and of course snowmobiling. The plastic tripod mount is a weak spot on the camera (if you check out other forums) so I made a mount that attaches to the camera in 2 places and provides more stability.

I attached a Ram Mount to a piece of aluminum. The camera attaches to the aluminum with a screw thru the tripod mount and has an elastic (looking for a better solution) to hold it to the aluminum near the top of the camera. I may also install it on the front bumper - should get some nice video.

I used it on my bike and it is very stable and easy to adjust. Can't wait for the snow.

The other thing I like about the camera is I can run it off a 12 volt adapter so I don't have to worry about running out of battery.

It should not be a problem - there are youtube videos of the Playsport on motorcycles just using the tripod mount.

Can't wait to see some clips with it. Been looking for a new camera, have been using a GoPro for some years now.

X2 can't wait to see some videos. I just got myself a go pro earlier in the summer. It was fun with the boat and stuff but I'm really looking forward to using it on the snow.

anyone looking for a cam, check out the VIO P.OV. very nice set up..

I mounted a different camera using a RAM mount off my handlebars. The excessive vibration created some distortion in the video. I ended up mounted it to my helmet and the video was so much smoother. Granted the camera I used didn't have image stabilization, but the best part was being able to pan the image on where I was looking, not just straight ahead.

I have used the older Kodak's and now have a playsport. I took video last winter with the old one off my helmet.

I did look a little goofy with it, as I used s suctioncup mount with a gooseneck on the top of my helmet. Who cares, the video was sweet.

The playsport on the other hand does have some simple Electronic Image Stabilization. The key to getting it to work well is not running it in 1080p. Run it is 720p 60fps, then the Electronic Image Stabilization will work properly. It won't in 1080p.

The SeaDoo submove video is my favorite of the summer. Gotta love a water resistant camera!!

I made a change to the Playsport mount. It was too shaky with the ball on the bottom. This mount is much more stable. Hope to have it out for a ride soon.

I really like the fact that has a screen to show what you are filming. My old GoPro missed alot of footage because I never knew for sure whether it was aimed right until I downloaded it.Another issue is trying to turn it on especially mounted on helmet which does seem to work best.A remote bar mounted with a light that indicates unit is filming would be really nice.Cubby yours looks like it should be accessible while riding even. You will know its on and aimed.Nice job!

Yes, same here. I will be buying the LCD screen for the gopro.

Cubby, I like the set up!

A friend has a Go Pro and it would be he ultimate but there was no option for a screen for it at the time. If the PlaySport works out OK I will upgrade to a Go Pro next season.

I do like the screen on the Playsport to see what you are recording. I hope to get the Kodak remote for it for Christmas!
