Yes, justin. Perhaps he is making fun of my little 3"er? Hahaha..Nice! Look at you snatching up the opportunity to brag up 4.5” haha
It this case, size does matter. I probably shouldn't have passed on that super cooler for $500. Oh well.
Looking at things, I'm surprised they got that to fit, must be tight.

Yes, but not a lot of room behind it to get the air out from behind it perhaps? Might negate part of the gains of the added girth.... LOL!

Great question.... I'd say definitely yes.Are these beneficial at 260HP levels? TY
Any sustained pulls, wether trail riding or lake racing that Ambient temperature go up Passed say 80° will help.
Let me Rephrase, it can't possibly hurt you.
Is it necessary, definitely not. Lol.

I have seen a couple data logs from a member here that has a similar setup sled to my SW but he has a bigger intercooler installed and I have a stock cooler. The resultant lack of intake temp rise in the larger cooler sled, after a comparable run, is impressive to say the least. From what I have seen around the 300hp level a larger intercooler is definitely worth considering for consistent performance.

DMC, does that intercooler taper down towards the bottom, or does it maintain its girth?I stand corrected. Turbor big intercooler is 4.5".View attachment 174743
Front mounts are without a doubt the best you can get, for obvious reasons.
That my friend, could very well be the most effective & efficient front mount available.

Very nice....that fat daddy is bada$$. And worth the price of admission.Maintains its girth.
I would like to see ambient temps during a 1200ft pull on MS20 vs the 3" I have.
Just my opinion, but that intercooler is a very good compromise.
That's for sharing...

I've only compared on datalogs over a 1320' run. It would be 20-25 degrees less than the stock cooler over all scenarios I would bet.Do the temps stay down after running across the lake?

About the same with the 3" VinnyFab then. I've always said about the same, 20 Degrees over the stock cooler. More if its colder out.
