I have been thinking about adding some LED accent lights to my sled. I was thinking of putting some under the curved part of the dash to light that open space... sort of like the way a limo has accent lighting in recessed areas. And, maybe some under the sled to make the snow "glow". Perhaps even some in the intake vents on the hood. It might make it look like a bad sled. Or, it might just look goofy. What do you guys think?

I'm thinking that if nothing else, some glow on the ground might be a good safety feature to make me easier to see. Maybe they could be connected such that they are on even when headlights arent... like when you are taking a break on the side of the trail after dark.

Pic attached where I was thinking of putting them on the dash...

After seeing "dylanjen9"'s sled lit up in his avatar I decided to put lites on both of my Vectors. Dylan was awesome...he sent me pictures of where the lights were mounted and how. Found a place on eBay that sells the lites I wanted (there are so many variations!) as well as a remote on/off FOB that I have on my key ring. I have nine LED pods on each sled. I think I did each sled for about $65 including the remote. You can get light controllers that will make the lites do more things = more $$. I'm happy with on and off.

PM me if you'd like more details.

Very nice SR Viper.
I did some LED's as well on my sled. I had the safety factor in mind when I did mine. There is red in the rear, blue on the sides and front (different angles) and front facing white on the hand guards.
They are wired to the battery via a waterproofed switch on the riser. IMG_5089.jpg IMG_5090.jpg IMG_5091.jpg

These are cool. Is it hard? Looks great!

Not really. I took my time and thot where and how to run the wiring and place the light strips. I ran the wires where it could encounter ice in steel brake line tubing and the other areas like under the plastics I ran it in clear tubing or wire loom.
Solder connections everywhere with heat shrink. A few strain reliefs and clamps to keep the wires and lights from moving or getting torn off. Placed the switch where I could use it while riding and was good to go.
E Z P Z :D

Looks great thanks something to dream about

Looks great! Thanks for the inspring ideas!
I have been installing lights on Apexs and SR Vipers. Started out as a safety thing and its really taken off.

My a/v shop has been doing lighting for 20 years on custom car audio systems and on powersports for almost 10. We were the first to start halos on sleds 5 years ago, LED lighting at the same time. I'd post pics but there are too many. You can view pics and videos on all brands on Sound Obsessions FB page. It will blow your mind what we do for people on sleds.....
