I put 2) 30cm strips under the nose of the hood. They light up the grill area a bit, but could be stronger. I also put 2 strips over the headlight. I was worried about them being too bright so I stuck them to the light and faced them upward. This really cut the light down. I suppose I should have faced the lights down, but thinking maybe I could add a little bit of strategically placed chrome tape to reflect better?
My goal is to have the lights and wiring as part of the hood assy so I don't have to undo a bunch of crap each time I take the hood off. I pulled my power from the lighter circuit but I am thinking that I may add a manual switch to energize direct from the battery so I don't have to turn the key on to light them.
I used these: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AEK55WY?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00
These look like the LED's are 2x the size of what I have: http://www.amazon.com/pack-BLUE-Super-Bright-Strips/dp/B010RH6Z7M/ref=pd_sim_263_26?ie=UTF8&dpID=41Hgrm8YwEL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR160,160_&refRID=0ZACDZNT88D450X835QH

Here is
mine, I just ordered bulk led strip lighting off eBay and cut to length. They are under my grill, in my ski wells, between my seat and tunnel, under my cowl and in pretty much every vent on the side.

I have also tried using cheaper lights and cheaper ways to attach the lights. The quality of the controller is also very important. I have found the real world test is going to decide what quality product you install on your sled. In order for your lights to survive 100mph at -30 f covered in ice is only the beginning of the punishment the lights and wiring will need to endure. The separate switch is also a must. Fusing is also required to prevent damage in the event of a failure. The more time you put in to the install of your lights the longer and more consistent they will work. Double sided tape is ok in limited locations especially on a sled however under the running board is not a location I would use tapeHere is View attachment 115581 mine, I just ordered bulk led strip lighting off eBay and cut to length. I attached all of them using 3M uhb tape and put a push button lit switch on them. I didn't see a need for a controller as the have a wide voltage operating range. Over 3000 miles with them and I have had a couple individual led cells go out but overall still working great. Only have about $50 invested instead of hundreds for a kit, and I have far more lights than you get with a kit.

I don't use kits either. Seems like the cost of a kit vs the quality of putting it together on your own cant compare. The control is for RGB color but if your only running one color it won't matter. Your riding style will dictate what type of install works for you. Sounds like your all set.I attached all of them using 3M uhb tape and put a push button lit switch on them.
