I put 2) 30cm strips under the nose of the hood. They light up the grill area a bit, but could be stronger. I also put 2 strips over the headlight. I was worried about them being too bright so I stuck them to the light and faced them upward. This really cut the light down. I suppose I should have faced the lights down, but thinking maybe I could add a little bit of strategically placed chrome tape to reflect better?
My goal is to have the lights and wiring as part of the hood assy so I don't have to undo a bunch of crap each time I take the hood off. I pulled my power from the lighter circuit but I am thinking that I may add a manual switch to energize direct from the battery so I don't have to turn the key on to light them.
I used these: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AEK55WY?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00
These look like the LED's are 2x the size of what I have: http://www.amazon.com/pack-BLUE-Super-Bright-Strips/dp/B010RH6Z7M/ref=pd_sim_263_26?ie=UTF8&dpID=41Hgrm8YwEL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR160,160_&refRID=0ZACDZNT88D450X835QH
