Help, I just got a set of Headlight Experts LED headlights for Xmas for my Apex XTX but I dont see how the dust cover will go back on. The cover won't fit at all and would cover up the little fan on the bulb. What can be done? It doesn't seem that you can run without this cover either as moisture will get in. I'm really bummed as this was supposed to be plug and play.

does the fan thread onto the bulb? the kits that rock sells do and that is how i get my dust cover back on.

Are these lights these?? If so you will have to cut the boot to fit around the cooling fins but keep it snug to the collar of the bulb base.

I'm not sure but I think you just cut an opening at the bottom for cable to run through and dust cover encloses the entire bulb/fan. You can email them and ask. I ordered a bulb set from them for wifes vector that should be here soon and can take a picture. Running Rocks HIDs on my Apex and want to compare with these LEDs.

Well, after talking with the manufacturer it turns out that the metal base ring unscrews from the bulb. I then put the rubber cover on the bulb and then screwed the ring back on making sure to index the bulb properly as it was before. Then it was hard to work that little metal wire clip into position but I did it after awhile. They fan is exposed so hopefully all is well. They are bright for sure and I can't wait to try em out.

Just did mine left off last year got moisture in there and steamed up
Had to cut a slit in boots to go over fans
Haven't been out yet to see if it gets any more moisture in there

Yes, the LED lights in the previous pic are the ones I have installed. I figured out that the 3 tab metal flange unscrews off the bulb and then you can put the rubber boot on the light. Next I screwed the flange back on making sure to orient the bulb correctly by comparing it to the other. It was difficult but I was able to install them and get the spring clip latched in under the rubber boot. It ends up with the fan assembly sticking out of the rubber boot yet the boot is sealed around the bulb by the metal flange. They work fantastic and I wish I had done this sooner. I have no fogging in my headlights either.
