Left Boot Syndrome

It's good that you guys are posting these problems and letting dealers know, even tho it's not a major problem with the sled it's still a comfort thing. I want Yamaha to have all the bugs worked out when I buy mine!!

As for this happening on the Revs??? I have 8500+ miles on a Rev 60-70% of which is backcountry riding and I've never had a wet foot with cheap kamic boots.....a wet butt however is common place.

Do any of you guys spray your boots with a protectant every year??? If you don't you might want to try that. It's not going to solve the problem but it will likely help.

Temp reading from third slot down from the top on left vent.
I did see a higher temp but it went down some by the time I got the camera working. This was after a little back yard running. No wfo,no high rpms just some easy breakin time.Outside air temp 20F.

Side panel shot of my 05 600 HO.
No problems with soggy left boot.
No issues on mine but some rev sleds run hot as some need more venting
and clutch cooling.
Camera date is 1 day off.

You guys are crazy to blame the sled, it's your boots. I own RU outside Boots and whenever I ride in powder (most of the time) my left foot always gets wet. including last four years on a Rev. 3 years back I complained to RU Outside, they exchanged my boots for the new model. Same problem. I have a pair of Altimate? boots, never a problem.
Yesterday I broke in my nitro wearing my RU WET boots. Wet Left Foot.
I would suggest buying waterproof boots.

I don't think so, I really like the boots, light weight, warm, very comfortable.
My other boots Ultimate?? are heavy, warm, & waterproof.

Here are some photos of the running boards after doing several miles of sit down road riding with approximately 6" of dry powder on top of a very hard base.

The left running board definitely receives more heat and stays melted off better than the right side.

It doesn't show up very well but the lower left leg of my gore-tex bibs is soaked while the right leg is still beading off the melted snow. Weird. I just checked and the nylon outer layer on both legs is wet.

You said you had wet feet with RU Outside boots. What RU Outside boot style did you have problems with? I like my RU Outside boots too, but not if they will be full of water after 60 miles!!

They are top of the line from three years ago, nice boots as long as you don't step in water or in a situation where snow melts around them. If you are a trail rider you won't have a problem.
RU Outside say that there boots are waterproof, they exchanged my boots with a new & improved model and I have the same problem.
Sorry I don't know the name of them, they have two quick release buckles with a removable liner.

I would say that if you use a good amount of water repellant, which I do all of the time - new or old, will repell most of this. I will be riding with my leathers on untill I get my freestyle stuff treated with repellant. I think that reverse lever plus the battery keeps the heat in on the right side. Need a vented plate on the bottom, so the vents on top can be mostly closed off. I will experiment when I get my panels put on from the body shop.
