Has anyone trail rode with them how do you think the hoods would hold up in the moguls on the trails.

Weighed my stock hood complete with light, windshield, instrument cluster, wiring etc........ 17.5 lbs. Better than a Skidoo ZX assy. It weighed in at 25lbs. I think it will be quite easy to shed 10lbs. by going to a lightweight hood. The ideal hood would be identical to an RX1 hood but incorporate a detachable Summit Rev style windscreen. Anyone out there interested in building something like that? I've already cobbled the pieces together to see what it looks like and it looks great. RX FUN

lightweight hoods
You can also look at mountain performances website, they also make lightweight hoods for the rx1s , they have the hoods and the light assy, or just the hoods w/o the assy, headlight for even more weight reduction. www.mountainperformance.com, hope this helps you out. 8)

CBS performancephn# 1-250-769-8212 chris. They have a line on a lite fibreglass hood that holds up unless you roll it on hard pack like I did.

I cobbled together a windshield/light assy that saves close to 5 lbs. The hood, alone, does'nt seem seem to weigh much once you get rid of the light pod. I used a "trimmed down" mountain max windshield, so it kind of keeps the yamaha lines. I looked at the rev windshield first, but couldn't bring myself to incorporate a skidoo part. I think it would work fine. Another advantage is the pod does'nt explode when you roll.

SoCo, The fibreglass hood I have right now weighs 3.8 lbs. Not sure what a stock hood weighs bare but I think its probably about 9 or 10 lbs. RX FUN
