The last year I heard alot about the link coupling the front shock and suspention breaking repeadedly. Mines not broke but wondered if yamaha is replacing them if they're not broke? How much does the new part cost? does anyone make a "billet" one? I'd like to get a better one befpre I break mine at an inopertune time. Anyone know anything about this subject?

They would not change mine untill I broke it.

The new one is billet aluminum, mine came as a complete kit of replacement parts, can't remember the part number. Do a search, I think the part # is on here somewhere.

The Yamaha kit consists of numerous parts and is quite expensive......close to $500 retail if I remember correctly. Yamaha paid in full to have mine replaced after breakage last season. The 08's came with the revised design. I was about 30 days out of warranty and Yamaha still took care of it. I've always been pleased with the way Yamaha has addressed an resolved any issue. It is for this reason I will continue buying Yamaha, they stand behind the product. Call Yamaha customer relations at (800) 962-7926 and see if they will assist. If not, you can try Hygear Suspension out of NY, they sell a kit for just under $390.00. Here's the link....good luck.
