I was going to buy a locker but I was really wondering how it worked. Does it work all the time or does it only kick in when you put it in 4 wheel drive.

Your quad already has a locker doesn't it?

If your quad is a 450 it has a locker. If you bought the 400 it dosen't. The nice thing about the 450 and 660 lockers is that you can engage them with the button. Most aftermarket lockers are full time. You may not like that cause they steer hard in 4x4 and 2x4.

and it said that it was a good locker but it said it was a gearless locker. what does that mean

What kind of Kodiak do you have? A 400 or 450?
