Lookin for something different in the U.P.

I have been going to the U.P. for many years now. I think the group has seen most of the popular sights such as Lake of the Clouds, the brides south of Twin Lakes and Copper Harbor. I am looking for something different. What places do you like to visit when riding in the U.P.? We stay in Watersmeet and like to travel 2-250 miles a day, but can ride more. (I am the only one on a Yamaha so 250 miles day is nothing) We are leaving Friday and I am looking for suggestions...Thank You!

You can walk out to the caves along Lake Superior in the Pictured Rocks area. This rarely happens. Also the ice caves near Eben Jct is kinda neat.

X2 on the ice caves at Eben! If you stay in Watersmeet, I'm sure you've been to Bond Falls just east of Paulding. I have a Big Mama's Grille T-shirt...LOL!

Do you ever ride the eastern UP? You can ride into DeTour Village and take the Ferry across to Drummond Island. I believe the ice bridge from St. Ignace to Mackinac Island is open right now too. There is also the Tahquamenon falls area near Paradise.

My absolute favorite thing to do is leave the truck in St. Ignace and do a 5-6 day backpack tour all the way around the UP! If we are not on a distance mission, however, we almost always drive up through WI to the western.

By the way, what are the Bride's? I've stayed at the Parkview Lodge in Twin Lakes many times, but never heard of it.

I always watch the sun come up when I stay in Greenland, Michigan as I ride up Rockland Mountain. I think it's more amazing than Lake of the clouds

Thanks for your replies. I was thinking about the ice caves too. The only problem that I have is that I read it is like a mile or two hike. Couple guys in our group are 300+ lbs. I am sure they are not gonna go for that. Never heard of Rockland Mtn. Where is that in Greenland? I hope it is not the area south of Greenland that snowmobiles are not supposed to go. A casino trip is not needed. We stay at the casino in Watersmeet so we get our fix of gambling at night. Gonna try to talk the boys into the ice caves. I guess they can "guard the sleds" if they want.

I visited the ice caves last year. Yes, it's a hike, but we were allowed to ride the sleds past the parking lot to the woods where the hiking trail started. That cut quite a bit of walking off, but it's still a good hike. Here's a pic:

If you guys are referring to the caves by Bayfield they're amazing!!!! But they are in WISCONSIN... So you will have to by there trail pass as well!!!

The ice caves I'm referring to are in the UP. They're about 15 miles west of Munising and a couple miles north of M28 and snowmobile trail 8. Here's a link:

Was just at the Eban Ice Caves on Sunday, they are in Eban just west of Chattam off trail 8. It's about a 1/2 to 3/4 mile walk from snowmobile parking to caves. We had a couple of big guys with us and they made it. well worth the walk.
The other things to see are Eagle's nest where the TQ river starts, somewhere outside of Seney?.
Big Springs outside of Manistique. There is a pond you can go out on on a floating raft. It is about 75 foot deep spring fed start of a river with huge trout in it and you can see to the bottom.
