Thanks for the tip. As an aside, someone on hardcoresledders sent me an ad for a 2006 Apex Attak about an hour and a half from me thats up for $3000, sent the guy a text and he said he still had it and would send pictures later, said he changed the oil every season and didnt have riding buddies so is selling it, apparently a really good deal at that for the precious EFIBearings on idler wheels. If you can get the back end off the ground on a stand, spin the suspension wheels and check for resistance. You can hear them also when they are bad or out of grease. Run the sled and listen for thumping noises around the clutch area, you may detect a bad belt or drive shaft bearing. Check speedo to see if it is working. This may indicate damaged speed sensor due to drive bearing failure. If the sled overall looks good, it probably has been taken care of. I also look at the persons house, cars and individual to see how they maintain everything else, a good indicator. Good luck!

Well issue there is you're literally on the other side of the state from me and probably half an hour south, the one for $3000 is only like an hour away. He said he'd send me pictures tonight, talked to him earlier and nothing yet.
If I can't find anything closer to me for a good price by July/August and yours is still up, I might be interested if I can get some gas money for the 5mpg trip haha

That's why I didn't bring it up before, where are you at?

That is not a lot of miles for the motor but it is for the chassis. There is some route maintenance should be done. If or when have the exhaust donuts been replaced? How about the front A-Arm bushings and the jackshaft bearing? These are the main thing that could need work with that many miles. Otherwise it is a great sled, I love mine.So im shopping for my first sled, going to be using it pretty much exclusively in the UP of michigan, which has nicely groomed trails, and will probably be mostly on trails and maybe going off them occasionally? As well as maybe getting around the town if snow gets real deep. I also wouldn't have access to tools to do any work that is beyond extremely basic during the riding season, which is why I'd rather have a 4 stroke, along with not needing to get oil... I found a 2003 RX-1 for sale somewhat near me, it comes with a clamshell trailer for $4000, pictures he posted in the ad are here: http://imgur.com/a/DRMvc
The ad says its got 8400 miles, which is not a lot for an R1 engine for my understanding, simmons skis, m10 air wave suspension, 136" 1.25 ripsaw track with 20 miles on it, 198 studs, after market seat, clutch work, and K&N air filters. Basically im wondering if this a decent sled for the price, as I'd need the trailer too anyway, and has anyone here used M10 airwave shocks on this sled? I haven't actually found anything about M10 "airwave" shocks, just "regular" m10 ones, which were all positive/said it fixed the suspension issues with the sled.
Anything to look for with this sled/any issues I should know about?
Thanks a lot in advance for any responses.
Cost for work ruff guest
$300.00 for exhaust donuts
$350.00 for jackshaft bearing
$400.00 for front end bushings
I do not know anything about the M10 air.

I should probably change this threads topic if I can. Someone on hardcoresledders sent me an ad for a 2006 apex attak for $3000 about an hour from me and dmaxx has his listed for $3300 and is around 3 hours away, I'll probably go with one of those. That is not a lot of miles for the motor but it is for the chassis.
