A good friend of mine is looking to purchase a Nytro. Its a 2008 with 2000 miles on it and looks to be in good shape. Only thing is supposidly the guy selling hit something and bent the running board. Doesn't look too bad but that got us concerned about what else might have happened. He send pictures and after looking it seems to me that the front A arms don't appear to be in line. The spacing between the shock and a-arm seems to be different on each side. Just wondering what you guys think. I know the 08's had some issues with the front end. Also, if it is the front end is it fixable. Thanks for the advice.

Matters what the price is. He has racing numbers, slednecks stickers and it is bent--it has definately been beat on. Perhaps the price is so low it makes sense.

5500 is the price. I was also wondering about the stickers.

I'd be a little leery of the sled my self. The first big red flag is the bent running board, what else is tweaked? My opinion is pass on it.

That's a fair but not great price on a sled in good shape - I'd pass for sure!

- something from 2019!
I would say pass also, looks a bit beat up for 5500, that would be on craigslist in alaska for a very long time if that were posted at that price

def pass. thats going price here on mint ones.
kinda funny...similar issue down here on craigslist. kid has a rtx in windham been on there a year for 5500 and in the background is a doo mxz just like that nytro...numbers stickers rave x...yadda yadda and the kid says he will trade for a doo. What do u suppose he friends with or is in the rave x motorsports crew(which is based in windham) and tried jumping the nytro and realized it was too heavy to do freestyle?
(note: nothing against the nytro i love mine, but i dunno if id hit steel ramps with it or attempt backflips on it)

Thanks for the advice. In my neck of the woods those sleds are going for around 6500.00 (I'm in Canada) so the price looked great to me. I guess we'll keep looking.

I'd say the subframe which was weak on the 08's is bent. $5-$600.00 touch if you do that yourself not to mention what else you'll find. I'd pass. Now if it was $4000-$4500. I'd take a drive!

I'll echo the concerns about race numbers and the sled necks stickers. The running board looks bent from jumping it and the one spindle looks to be too vertical. I think it is a safe assumption that the sled has been beat on and not taken care of. Just going off the pictures, I wouldn't even look at it.

Maybe its because i am not picky but the sled looks pretty good....you don't see much like those anymore.

I don't mind a few issues for that price but am worried about the front end since the 08 had issues. It's hard to tell in pictures and hate to drive 5 hours to find out.

Well if you think it looks iffy in pictures more then likely it will look beat up in person. The front end is probably bent if it looks off, so your looking at sub frame at the least. And I'm sure the bushing and ball joints are smoked too. So if u take all that into account I would say $5500 is on the high side. And 5 hours drive......probably pass and keep looking. I wouldn't be scared of 08s though, I love mine!! A lot of the gripes are blown out of proportion, take them with a grain of salt. Good luck brother

The '08 front end has bump steer and this is why it is twitchy and unpredictable at high speed or through the bumps. The '09 and later front ends have bump steer but the geometry is less aggressive so the sleds don't handle as aggressively thus the twitchiness and unpredictability is reduced.
See how firm he is on the price. I'd tell him to drive 2.5 hrs to meet you halfway if you have your heart on this sled. That way he's got some incentive to work with you. You don't want to make the 5 hr drive, decide that "Oh, how bad could it be?" buy it and then ruminate about all the things that could be wrong with it as you drive 5 hours back home. You know, making stops along the way, looking at the sled each time noticing on more thing wrong with it. Having second thoughts about your purchase. FUN!
