I have the same thing, works great! I was riding in just above 0deg F this weekend. I wasnt the slightest bit cold in my 509 gear along with the Klim Covert and the Turtle neck fleece.

like 04jrb said use neck dickie, if you have klim covert you have $50 in it
so for a few bucks get the neck dickie, pull it up over your chin and you will not get cold.
i agree for $50 it should keep you warm, it does a good job for wind proof.
don't buy klim neck warmer i have never used it, it's to small, i will give it to vip member free. pm me.

agreed, most of the other suggestions here are very thick and bulky which i hate the most! I do get a cool neck when doing high speed (50+ mph) for miles however most of my riding is just to find a spot to play then i get very warm usually no goggles and just sunglasses with moto x helmet. I value the comfort of the product the best, If i am trail riding for long way i will just get the turtle fleece action and I'm happy. with the moto x even on cold days.

Re: balaclava
I forgot to mention that I pull up the turtle neck and tuck in the fleece a bit by my ears, it will cover my chin and then some without affecting breathing and fogging. It stays put at over a hundo, I tested that this weekend. I feel I can ride with the Klim Covert, Turtle Fleece, and my 509 helmet and goggle down to maybe -5F. After that, Ill likely want my full face HJC with Eshield.
The HJC actually let me down this past Friday Night. there was a lot of snow dust in the air that was coming in from the top side of the shield to the inner surface. I was very upset with that, especially for how much money I spent on the damn thing. This is the only time it has ever happened, possibly due to the specific conditions (light fluffy snow, high winds, and a lot of oncomming traffic). Ill be looking into creating a better seal for that helmet.
First thing I am going to work on is getting the damn headlight aimed down so I can see at night while snowing. My lights on low beams are as high as my high beams on my wifes car! Id like to close3 the gap between the cluster/windshield/headlight unit to the body better too.

Ordered the Arctiva Windblock figured I'd give it a try. Need a new back up anyway. Hope it works. Probably look for a neck dickie for the day pack as well for real cold days.
Thanks allot fellas

My back up is an Arctiva, and the only reason its a back up is because its a few years old. I think you will be happy with it along with a neck fleece ($20 from Sled solutions).
My buddy used the exact combo last weekend in Munising. temps were just above 0F at night, and he was warm.

I wear one similar to the one in the link below.....NO Fog. I've been up in Ontario when highs were -20F and lows were -40 riding with snowcross helmet and no frost-bite.

I do agree with your suggestion, it works really well and not only it's cheap, it's also comfortable and easy to wear, not that bulky.

After using Klim balaclava's for years with a full face helmet, when I switched to a motor-x helmet they were cold. I bought this No Fog Extreme mask and it is super warm. G.B.

I agree with the Turtle Fur neck. I used to use a North Face bacq but it fell apart after 1 season. Switch to turtle neck with the fleece collar on my TekVest and I've never been cold down to -20F.mbw919 said:I carry a Turtle Fur turtle's neck for such occasions. I like both of Klim's balaclavas. The Covert model is great on cold days. And I've switched to soley riding with a Klim F4 helmet (moto cross style), so I need alot out of my balaclava. I never get cold with the Klim full set up, and I just rode 311 miles yesterday in this:
Pushing powder everywhere we went, so snow was trying to sneak in any place it could. Klim stuff is good.
