I have a black set I could swap plus some cash or would buy the blue ones outright if someone was going narrower or aftermarket. Anyone powdercoat these arms with ball joints in? Even if they do not wreck the joints right away, I fear the long term damage on them. I have powdercoated quad arms before but I just hate that the joints are not removable/replaceable.

why not paint them? i did mine white and with good clear coat it is tougher than powder coating anyway.

Any advice for painting and clear coat? I already know that prep is key but what exactly should I do to make them turn out looking good and staying good? Should I have them sand blasted first? Go right over the factory powder? Sand them? I thought about a clear vinyl sticker after the clear as well just to keep the rock/ice chips from showing. If I am going to do it, I want to do it right and don't have much experience with paint staying looking good. Any particular brand of paint for best? Any particular clear? How many coats of clear?

my buddy is a good painter so he and I did all of the work ourselves. we scuffed the black powdercoating good so there was no shinny spots on it at all. taped off the bolts and the top of the ball joints. sprayed with 2 coats of white paint but the real deal is the clear coat. I used a couple healthy coats of imron clear over the white paint. this stuff is awesome. they tested and use in on snowplows! have almost 2000 miles on sled with some through brush and corn fields and there are zero scratches or marks on the a arms. takes a while to dry and harden but it is great.

I have the yamaha blue paint code for dupont croma base if you want it. I painted the bumpers on our old phazers with base coat/clear coat and they took a lot of off trail abuse and still looked good. The match of the color and the metallic is perfect.

I would love to know the paint code. Is this the same paint code that the 2015 blue/white uses on the arms and rails? I am thinking about getting the blue rails too. Just wondering if the 2 blues are the same?

Yes, I have compared it and its the same color.
on a different note I purchased a new OEM blue bumper for the 2015 XTX SE and it does not match the A-arms very well so I will be repainting that viper bumper soon so it matches better using this same paint color.
I will get you the code tonight

The paint code is J3852K
Find a auto parts store in your area that mixes DuPont Automotive paint and they can mix it up for you, a pint is more then enough to paint A-arms. The base color needs to be thinned with Dupont Base Maker plus you will still need clear coat and harder and I would recommend Dupont also for a high quality and strong finish. Bring your wallet because painting supplies are not cheap. I would also recommend finding someone that has experience painting if you have not done it before, this is not very friendly stuff when it comes to first time do it yourself guys. Just being honest here, there is nothing worse then spending all that money/time and something goes wrong and has to repainted again.. Its not that its hard, but there are a lot of tricks to the trade and its more of a art then a science when it come to a perfect finish not to mention just having the right equipment to do the job also
