Correct.....DEI (Directed Electroincs Inc) markets their alarm products under a few different name brands due to dealer/market geography...Viper, Python, Hornet, Sidewinder, AutoMate., and whatever else nowadays...all DEI..same products, different labels.
One other thing I thought of...I have always leaned to remote start units with external (satellite) relay packs for remote starting..versus units that have all the relays built into the brain/module. If a seperate relay goes bad, you just have to swap a $2 SPDT relay....if a relay INSIDE a unit goes bad, you have to swap the whole unit. Just something to think about...as cold temps play a big factor in relay operation.
As far as the negative starter...I guess that is something to investigate..But I would assume it switches negative from the keyswitch (for start)..and that negative signal triggers a relay (somewhere) that throws positive voltage to the starter.....could be wrong though....if it is a true negative from the key switch directly to the starter (and not run through an OEM relay) make sure to use the same or heavier gauge wire to trigger the negative starter wire (meaning terminals 30 (Common) and 87 (Normally Open)). Term 86 get the heavier gauge wire going to chassis ground and the neg. starter wire and term 86 to pos start wire from remote start and term 85 to chassis ground (or vise versa becuase it doesnt matter with 85 or 86 which one gets ground and which one gets positive, as long as one gets (+) and the ohers gets (-) it will trigger the relay). But I am GUESSING that it runs through a relay somewhere and would be more opt to run the 12v start wire into the starter side of that relay...
Hopefully I aint getting too technical on ya...lol. but Flybyu seems pretty well versed and willing to help ya out if ya need it.
But shoot me a PM if you need any assistance

There ya go.....told ya so!! I knew there was probably a relay in ther somewhere. hahaha. Good call Attakred. So two options....use a relay to flip the remote start (+) to a negative and get the (-) wire at the key switch.....or extend the (+) starter wire from the remote start to the (+) starter wire at the relay near the battery....6 of one, half a dozen of the other.--Steve (O.C.)

well it is not that simple the neg trigger goes to the relay and also to the control unit so it knows the start is engage;;;;fuel injection law;;;;so you better use neg to simulate the key use;;;

FLYBYU said:positive trigger input to negative trigger output relay. Give me the day and i'll tackle this. I'm going to do some testing today. Going to to try some wire jumping.
Looks good! Is there a certain brand or type of relay that is prefered? Is that an OEM relay?

just a regular relay

As far as relays, I would definitely stick to a good, quality relay, as from my experience, substandard relays are more adversely affected by the severe cold weather.
Circuit City carries what appears to be a decent one made by Metra, which is a large autmotive aftermarket accessory supplier (rated at 30A), it even comes with the harness that plugs into the relay for $3.70 for the relay and the harness

A company called Potter Brummfield makes a good SPDT (Single Pulse Double Throw) relay which I have been using for years. if you can get your hands on them, they are good.
DEI makes their own relays as well, which are great. But they are pretty tight with selling to the public. maybe you can find a local auto stereo/alarm shop that sells DEI and pick up a relay there. It should be no more than 2-3..maybe 4 dollars.
SPDT relays often come included with a set of airhorns, fog lights, etc..from like an auto store or whatever.which are usullay junk (they are usually all plastic). I mean they may work, but I would not turst them for the cold weather of to last very long.

SPDT is single pole double throw. I have always used Bosch relays. The pin configuration on all automotive type 30A 12vdc SPDT relays is standard.

Ok, Negative trigger switch. Jump two wires and a ground one of the other ones and it fires right up. I'm working on a schematic for you guys now.

Just got back in town.
Thanks for all the work Flybyu.
Looks like it's doable with the relay. The Remote start should be sitting at my work. If not I'm sure I'll see it Monday.
I'll be in touch....
Thanks!

potter relay sound good,,, 12 volt and ignition at fuse block on the right is good;;you do not use more power than the key itself anyways ;;note make your wire as short as possible use a smaller fuse than the main ,so this one blows first,,and you do not get stuck because of a fuse,,,,some good system do not need rpm,but use voltage increase to monitor start... bye..

fuse block for igni is not right,,,to be able to start no matter the switch and killer position the start relay is better you get 12 volt,ignition-red;white start-blue;white,neg
