I am looking to get back into snowmobiling. Have had a SRX500, SRX700 and last sled was an 05 RX1 ER Candy Red. Sold my RX1 about 5 years ago when my stepson got serious into hockey and had no time to ride. He is now done with hockey and looking to get back into snowmobiling. I am interested in a Apex and want to get a Vector for my wife. We will be riding mainly in Old Forge and not into ditch banging and ride groomed trails.

Looking to buy used and would like to get something 2010 or newer.

Always liked the 08 40th anniversary..but think i would like to go a bit newer.

Any recommendations or things to look out for on a used Apex?

Also, can somoene confirm when the Vector went EFI...09 or 10'. Looking for a used EFI Vector for the wife.

If you ride in Old Forge check at Big Moose. Not the best on price but a big selection.

2010 was the last year for the '1st generation' Apex. In 2011 the Apex was upgraded with EPS, new skis, taller seat & EXUP. EPS is awesome, it transformed the sled. If it fits your budget, an '11 is much, much improved over a '10 or older.
The Attak/LTX & XTX versions offer a better ride in the bumps with only minimal reduction in corner flickability, the 121/128 Apexes are too twitchy IMO.
If the sled backfires when the throttle is chopped, it needs exhaust donuts, expensive to have repaired or if you do it yourself, it's time consuming & comprehensive.

I'm thinking about getting back into it, too. I spotted a new leftover 2012 XTX & I'm giving it serious thought.

Yes very familiar with big moose yamaha. My buddy buys all his sleds there, I usually go the Craigslist or TY route to find my machine. Definitely will look at 11 or newer as would like eps

Exhaust donuts are cheap, and an easy fix with a little mechanical skill.

I believe the first EFI vector was 2010,i have seen some deals here in michigan if you want to do a road trip.also make sure your trailer is up to carrying all this weight ,snow and ice incl with extras.
