Just want to see what the good the bad & the ugly are on the RS Vector (or Rage)
I've seen some 05's with proaction & 06's with mono shock.
How's the ride on both? I have a SRX now w/ proaction (viper style)
How the wind protection on the hands & face?
What's differant about the ES & GT models
Any thoughts would be great. good, bad or ugly
Thanks for the help, Bob B

Vectors are great sleds. Nice ride, great power, very comfortable and they get 20+ mpg.
The performance wont be quite what your SRX has, but the Vector is a lot faster than it's 120-hp class rating suggests.

My father came off a SRX and test rode a vector and a rx1 at a demo he did not like the vector's power just not enough for him, if you want the same HP and speed go with a APEX or a 05' RX1 you will not be upset with the speed, just imagine having your SRX power with a Mono shock it in and night and day handling, compared to your SRX.

Jusy my 2cents hope it helped.

i have an 05 rs rage and i had a chance to ride the vector and rage before i bought it. its has lots of power unless your on larger fire roads as for the suspension its great i suggest getting a rage over the vector just because it sucks up the bumps better i can pound it over 2-3 foot mougles at 90 mph and skip across the tops of them mostley sitting down and i dont think it pushes anymore in the corners than the vector it handles great and the liquid silver with flames looks great the only real down side i can find with this sled is that its a little cold on the face and hands but its withstandible gas mileage is great im getting about 20mpg on my rage and with the long track its fun to take in the powder and has no problem going where you want it to hope that helps srx maine

I have been a die hard SRX man since 98, I have over 15,000 mile's logged in on two different SRX's. My best friend picked up a Vector and I was very disappointed in the top end, I was in no way ready for a four stroke. His brother purchased a RX-1, great top end but sucked on the twistys, still not ready. But then his brother purchased a 06 Apex RTX and I was completely blown away with every aspect of this snowmobile!!! The top end was right there with my 01 SRX, the suspension was unlike anything I have ever rode and the holeshot was superb. To me it was a no brainer, I'm picking up my 07 Apex RTX in two weeks and can't wait, it will be sad not riding my SRX but I think I will get over it real quick! I guess in my opinion I would look into a 06 RTX or GT non-current and have the time of your life. I think that if you are used to the awesome power of a SRX you will struggle with a Vector. Best of luck!

Is it all about top speed in the first place? If it is then the Vector is not for you, however I have never had a more fun "play" sled than my Vector GT.
I ride this thing like I borrowed it with out asking and leave 600ZR'S and 600XCSP's in the dust. F7's will take me on the long run, but out of the hole and mid point I don't even see the machine untill I hit about 85mph. The very wide power band is fricken marvelous and will beckon you to play every time you fire this sucker up.
But thats just me loving my Vector! :-o

I HEARD THAT ON THE 07'S THEY WENT BACK TO THE PROACTION. IS THIS TRUE? IS IT JUST ON SOME SLEDS?

Won''t look back.....

I purchased a new '05 Vector this past March and have absolutley no regrets (this sled has replaced my 2003 F5). I spend most of my riding on the trails so it is pointless for me to purchase a bigger powerplant. If you are an experienced rider who is an avid trail rider, then it should not matter what is under your hood. My F5 would keep up with Mach Z's and F7's all day long in the trails.

I purchased this sled on E-bay for a steal: $5,200.

Pro-active, not proaction. The proaction is long gone and may it RIP. Nytro and RTX use proactive, as well as the base Vector non-ER. RTX was mono last year but went to the proactive this year. The '05 Rage was proaction for that year only I think.

Better get an apex or you will be dissapointed switching to a sled that is slower.
