Have you checked the clutches for alignment, it the motor twists and it can performance is lost. If out of alignment adjust your motor and speed will come back.
15mph is a big #,check to see if throttle bodies are open all the way at wot, look for an anchor hanging off the back of your bumper-you are riding with your buddies-lol!

OOOPPPSS, forgot to reply on Tues. Anyway she seems fine again, seen 117- 119 mph on the dream meter several times, bad news is I completely wrecked my new slides, 400 miles and they are worn right down. There was no fresh snow so we were running on ice crystals but once it went above freezing we had a blast!! Sun we were sledding in 52 degree sunshine... what a blast!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not sure what the speed problem was before but I bet it was just sticking slides.

its the track
even though your dream meter is now saying 117mph, if you went from a 1 1/4 inch track to a 1 1/2 inch track, you just added 1/4" all the way around so you are achieving the same "True speed" but the track is just doing less revolutions because it is bigger. So doing some quick math, adding a 1/4" to your track you are now traveling further on every rotation, but your speedo registers every rotation to read MPH.

Re: its the track
The track lug height is not where yami gets it speed off of,it is a small toothed gear under the secondary, that is like a prox probe,it counts revolutions and sets it into the ecu to the speedo,it is set to read 10% high,if you want it more accurate grind two teeth off 180 degrees apart and it will be spot on. Back to the speed of 1.25 track vrs 1.50 track,if you did not gear down for more weight and rotational mass, and have achieved 117 speedo w/1.5 track than you are moving much faster now if you had your 1.25 track on in those same conditions you most likely would of seen 120 plus speedo.fishinayak said:even though your dream meter is now saying 117mph, if you went from a 1 1/4 inch track to a 1 1/2 inch track, you just added 1/4" all the way around so you are achieving the same "True speed" but the track is just doing less revolutions because it is bigger. Well all i can say is 120 speedo with 1.5 track lug height is awsome speed,is that xp 800 beating you when you see 120 mph? if so than it must not be completely stock, but you must roast him w/that track from hole till top end hopefully. Well i do think that w/out ice scratchers or a screw in your skis to spill some extra snow up to your skid that your hyfax was some of the top end loss, and if they are smoked they are smoked for a reason, very hard snow, but unless they are worn thru,i would not changed them, you are now worn down far enough to be on your wheels, most people change out slides way to early, just when they are now fast,if you run hard ice/snow again install the scratchers or a bolt thru your ski,and again you must have a very fast apex if it can go 120 w/that track, now gear it down to 23 top and you will see even more speed on snow.torque monster said:THIS WEEK I CHANGED THE SLIDERS AND PUT GRAPHITE ONES ON, ADJUSTED THE TRACK TO SPEC, INSTALLED CR10EK PLUGS, BELT ONLY HAS 500 MI. ON IT, LIMITER STRAP AND TRANSFER ROD ARE SET TO MAX., SLED HAS 2500 MI. ON IT, HAVE NOT RODE YET TO CHECK BUT IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I SHOULD LOOK AT??? PLEASE HELP... GETTIN TIRED OF THE XP'S KICK'N MY A$$[/b]

Re: its the track
Fishinayak, technically you are correct that the 1/4" higher lug results in a larger overall track outer (tips of lugs) circumfrence. Therefore if the track were rolling on a hard surface this would result in the sled moving slightly farther with each track revolution which consequently would make the speedo read slightly slower than with the shorter lug track.
However, in reality the track will most likely sink into the snow surface resuting in the "belt" of the track being in contact with the snow which will yeild about the same overall "usable" circumfrence so the overall gearing and speedo accuracy would be abbout the same with either lug size track.

mnmsnowbeast, last time I ran with the XP's they did not want to race????
I think with her hitting 117-119 again made them paranoid, funny thing though when we swap the XP's don't feel like they pull as hard as my RTX. XP's are both studded and running a 1" track, where as I am unstudded and running the 1 1/2" paddle( which should slow me down a fair bit with my 240 lb carcass on it!!) Bottom line the XP's are quick, it is a 50/50 race below 100 mph, they are both stock 2008 and a 2009 with 180 lb guys sqeezin the luv flipper!!

one more thing, in the powder - I am king, this thing is awesome when you got her squeezed just be careful when you let off the throttle cause she slams down hard... almost scary hard. I can stand her up on the rear grab bar on command- XP's can't!! I don't think I'll give up the paddle track... just too much fun!!
