I have a 17 sidewinder. I’m wondering where to start looking for a short. The fuse blows on the tail light reverse and gauges. Everything looks good at the fuse box wires. Any common areas to look for.

A place to start looking is by removing the fuse block from the mount. Incoming wires under the block have been known to wear through the insulation.

i would do a really quick test and unplug the acessory wire that gets used for your helmet plug or heated seat, its right beside the chain case. see if you still blow a fuse, it can really help narrow down one direction or another. Do you blow the fuse at idle/immediately when turning on the ignition? or is it after the sled starts moving?
