Apex seat and 2" bar risor and you will fall in love all over with your sled. get the seat from a base or GT model, the RTX and mountain ones are firmer. Read on here how to install it. Bar none the best mod and look at my sig, I have had it all except a supercharger and that is going in next year

If you don't want to spend the money on a different seat, you could add some HD foam to the existing seat for a little extra height and cushion. Here is a step-by-step of mine with 4" of foam.

I have one with a stuffed seat and one with an Apex seat. I like the Apex seat better, but my short daughter likes the stuffed one. It's been stuffed for 3 years now with no sign of problems. The fabric is fairly stretchy. I used 6" thick upholstery foam from JoAnn Fabrics. The stiffest stuff they had. The apex seat is still taller.

What year is your sled? The 05 seats are quite comfy. The 03s are stiff.

I put an Apex seat on my warrior and its soft but narrow. My wide butt found the 05 seat to be more comfortable after 300 miles.

The 05 seats are squishier than the 03's but about the same height, so in reality you're sitting even lower since your butt sags the foam down more.

Swapping to an Apex seat is a great mod, the taller seat has makes a surprising difference in ride quality.

I've tried both seats too. The extra foam 0n the older seat doesn't sit as high as the Apex seat. The Apex seat opens the knee angle, makin it way more comfortable. You could add the foam under your exsisting seat there by raising the 05 to your liking. Many mountain guys swap out their seats for lighter boss seats, so you may find a cheap one there.

I got 03 rx1 now iam told that I only can go 2'' for a riser with out putting cable ext in her ??? thanks

RX1 riser

I just got done raising my bars on my 03 RX1. 2 inches was the max for mine with the stock throttle cable so I used the following:

Powermadd pivot adapter #PM15583
Powermadd 2" riser #PM15539
Throttle cable for 05 RX1 MNT Yamaha part #8FW-26311-00-00

The pivot adapter and 2" riser lifts it a total of 4 inches and then I could roll the bars up and forward with the pivot. I tried the powermadd cable extension first but it would not work. The 05 cable is about 4 inches longer, fits perfect and is easier to install.

I am 6'1" and this fits me perfect now. Hope it helps

The most I could do was a 2" Roxx articulating riser. Even with that, if I rotate it too far forward, it binds the throttle

seat on 03 rx1

I put an apex seat on my 03 rx1,fell in love with the sled again.I added a 2inch riser,had to play with the cables a bit but it's all good.Here's a pic.

Cool but a seat here in Newfoundland is hard to find Cdn dollar not good for buying anything in the states right now but I will find one thanks
