I'm new to the turbo 4 stroke world for sleds, and was just wondering why you would want to use low compression pistons in a general 190 HP turbo kit for a Nytro? I can understand that you could run higher boost by doing this but wouldn't that just bring the HP back up to 190 or am I wrong? Also, would this allow you to use a lower octane fuel if you rode in an area where premium fuel is next to impossible to find? The reason why I want to understand this is because I'm looking for a turbo and found 2 with this set-up.

Ther is no need to lower the compression in a Nytro engine at 190hp

I would presume it works like headshims.

Could the reason they did this be because they may have road in an area where premium fuel is no where to be found, and just adding boost to get back to the 190 HP, or am I wrong? These sleds are at a dealership and they know nothing on the history of the sleds.

I'd stay away from those sleds unless you can find out the sleds history or the dealer has a very good reputation or return policy. A good dealer should know the history of what they are selling.
A boosted sled can have issues that are not readily apparent as the extra power can mask the issues.
Unless I know the history of the boosted sled & owner I'm not buying a used boosted sled without doing a leak down test or being present while one is done.
I have purchased two boosted sleds used with no issues. However both were from fellow TY members that I was able to go back & read all there posts to determine that they were A 1 guys who looked after their stuff. One of the guys did not post much so I asked Tom [Administrator/owner of TY] for a reference which came back glowing.

Ok thanks for your input. Ya, hate to get into something I'd be stuck with dumping lots of money into.

One more question, what are boosted nytros like for getting at the plugs to do a leak test on? Is it relatively quick to reach the plugs or is there lots involved?
