the ape is idling to low when warm 1100, tried adjusting it and it'll raise to 1500 or so then drop back down to 1000-1100rpm anyone have an idea on this one, can i take that idle valve apart ?
Are you adjusting it with the little black knob on top of the throttle bodies facing the clutch side? If not that is how you adjust the idle, not by opening the throttle plates more.
i have had this issue in the past. found that my boots that connect the airbox to the intake were kinked and not sealing properly. fixed that and it solved my idle issue
Airbox connected or not.....turning the black knob should turn your idle up or down. Keep turning it clockwise(I think it's clockwise) till it idles up, you won't hurt anything.
Are you adjusting it while the sled is running, if not adjust it while the sled is running.
Have the exact same issue. When I start the sled it idles at 1600RPM, after the sled has been ridden for 20 min and I come to a stop it starts idling at 1100RPM. If I blip the throttle slightly it sometimes goes back to 1600RPM. If I shut the sled off and turn it back on it will idle at 1600RPM. Just did a 1000km trip in Hearst and it did this the entire time. Sled ran flawless other than this small issue.
after playing with the valve and it not doing much, when i started for saturdays ride, now when warm it's idling at 1800 rpm, just gonna leave it that way for now
