Looking to install a windshield on my 09 rtx but not sure if the low or medium is the one to choose. As well do I need a different mount kit for the medium shield? I have the mount kit for the high shield now. Does anyone have any pics? I seem to always go for the low and freeze but they look so much better!

stock one that came on the gt's. i trimmed the top down about 2-3 inches.
help out for me with visibility.

i know it's not a low or medium. maybe a medium now.

Here is a pic of a Low Blue Chrome on my 07 FX but you need to order the low mounts. Standard mount only fits medium & tall windy.

xrrider thats a skinz float plate. way better than the stocker that i had on.

fast shee, you beat me to it. i actually was thinking of painting it. just don't know what color(s) maybe.

i'm going to wait on the paint until i get some handguards. soon hopefully. just incase if i have to do any more trimming.

i did my vmax a few years back & it's still good.

i'll post it here on this thread if i get to it before the snow flys.

Handy- How cool is the low shield when it gets cold? Looks like the legs get kind of chilly. My 08 nytro had a cluster warmer for a shield so looking for a little more coverage than that one had. Would you stick with the low or go for a medium?

Don't know if i can do it, but i'll try to post a picture of mine with, i think, a mid height, mountain windshield off a stock Mtn Phazer. Stock mounts, and would never go back to a low one, (much warmer,) BUT, i do hit my helmet on it when riding hard, that's not good!

I think mine is a high one.Like spike said it sure helps for cold and snowdust. One thing I would consider is painting the inside near the lower edge since you do get headlight glare off your own headlight.Plan to do mine.

Actually it's not bad. I put the air deflectors from the GT on and they really work well for keeping the wind off your knees and hips. The hand guards are really only good for looks, you have to wear mits on cold days and save your gloves for warmer days.

The GT air deflectors seemed to make a pretty big difference then? I have some from my 440 Rev that will work that i always wanted to try, but i don't like to drill holes in my sleds unless it's going to work. Yes, the hand gaurds are small too, i heated mine up and bent them forward a little for a bit more room.

Related to this I was thinking about getting the windshield tinted at the bottom using tinting film.
