So since I got the new sled I've been doing some of the mods I've always wanted to do like make my own ride light so here are some pics on how it turned out. I should mention I installed the Viper hand gaurds and they work well on the Sidewinder with this mod.
I picked two of the indented positions on the hand guard to use for my LED bolts and drilled them out to fit.
Once I mounted the LED bolts into the hand gaurd, I ran the wires in a 1/4" split loom to match factory wiring. I ran the wires along the hand gaurd and down the handle bars to the riser and into the switch cowl where I picked up switched power and ground.
I got my hands on a switch that is identical to the factory heated seat switch. It's a 3 position switch that I have wired for the following: forward position green, center position off, and back position Amber.
I used the factory cutout for the heater switch to make my little cardboard template of the switch to align and mark the location. Next I cut out the plastic with a utility knife and installed the switch.
I crimp and solder all my connections and use heat shrink tubing. Hook everything up and test out the lights, works perfectly. Nice custom install with no goofy giant box on my sled.

Looks great!
I was just thinking the other day if I could only make the LED light in my left powermadd hand guard turn to yellow and green also.
Where did you get the LED's.

Oh that's good! When is the plug and play kit coming. I've never liked that box that they have. I also like the Doo LED hand guards, now if those had an option of green and yellow via a switch!
