anyone using mack studs? how do you like them? and which backers are better square or round? this is the first time ive ever bought studs but every sled i have ever owned has had them but always put on by the previous owner.
I put on 144 Mack Studs last year and love them. They have a 5 year warranty against bending or breaking but I have yet to do that to any even with all the rocks and RR tracks I ran over since installing them. Here is my thread with pictures.
I went with the square backers per recommendation of the company employee that was at the snowmobile event selling them. They have worked great and still have a pretty sharp tip on them with over 1500 miles so far.
Highly Recommended!

hey thanks for the reply man i think im going to go with them kinda weird they have that bend/break warranty and they are also cheaper than any of the other studs i have looked at
The reason why they are cheaper yet offer a better warranty and are as good if not better product is because they produce the entire product and sell/market it themselves. There is no reseller or "middle man" to add a margin of profit to it, you buy directly from the manufacturer.
I had enough with my bent Woody's studs years ago and broken stainless steel "Red Tip" studs. These Mack Studs have proven very stout so far but with only 1500 miles on them so far, only time will tell.

Sounds good. I may invest in these also next season. I have been debating if I should stud or not. I want to but I hear a lot about studs ripping out and also causing other damage to the sled plus bending. This is what makes me hesitant.
I stand corrected, I did not know anyone else sold them. Good for you getting a deal. On their website, Mack Studs says you can custom order different package sizes. While it's only 6 more studs, I highly doubt you'll need them.mbarclay said:im buying them from rich motorsports bc somehow he sells them cheaper than mack does from him its $335 shipped for 168 studs(cant get just 162) black backers, nuts, template and drill bit when i called mack its like around 370 for the same package
