2009 Nytro RTX
So I decided to build a relatively cheap exhaust for my 2009 RTX. I went down to the local Napa and picked up a 2 1/4 inch Thrush Rattler muffler. This is a single chamber muffler with baffles, not a glasspack. I was worried the glasspack would be too obnoxious and have zero back pressure. We don't have snow yet but I'm very happy with the sound just from running in the garage.

Install was pretty easy. I cut 4 slots in the end of the inlet so I could clamp it to the header pipe with a regular exhaust clamp. I also welded a 2 1/4 to 2 inch reducer in the outlet to clear the seat plastic. This extended the pipe about 4 inches. Then I just welded a bracket to bolt on where the existing muffler did. Hit it with some high temperature header paint and here is the finished product.

Weight difference?

I'll try post a clip later. Cell phone videos always sound bad though.

As for weight, it's easily half the weight of stock. I should have put it on a scale, I'm curious now

Hey guy could you also give the diameter and overall length? Thanx
