i see the new magazines are saying the cat or the mach z are the top dogs for 07, just want to know how some of you guys fared against mach s last year, only raced one but beat it to about a hundred and ten and ran out of lake

Took the Mach every single time. Can't wait for the NOS kit to arrive.

I really believe that on the snow, they all will be very close..
In amsnow mag, they thought the new cat didnt have as much top end as the mach...but they also thought the cat had more low end and midrange! There was alot of guys on here who claimed to have beaten a mach last year..
Who knows... i guess you guys will find out in 4.5 months or so..

Straight line racing means nothing to me, The way I see it is if you want to see who has the best sled and can handle the sled, take it to the trails and go nutty(with respect to other trail riders though) I got pounded by a modded f 7 last year on the lake, but when it came to the trails that was a different story.

Hopefully when the shootout takes place and the Apex ET's better than the Cat 1k like it did the Mach last year in the 1/4 much laughing will ensue.

I think Mach Z has the potential to be a great lake racer, but when in box stock form, even I with my 10 year old Vmax4 Mountain beat them...

The problem with the mach's they where so inconsistant from the factory there was very few that ran hard but some did fly the majority were slower than a stock apex. In the right hands for stock bore machines the machs where one of the fastest sleds out there with just some clutching.
I know my buddies '06 renegade 1000 against my '03 rx1 with clutching my rx1 beat it. When he finally broke in the renegade it would be a toss up to 100mph.
Now he has had his dealer do all the race tunes on it and I turbo'd my sled. Should be interesting. Cant wait till this winter.![Div20 ;)! ;)!](/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/div20.gif)

Last January some friends riding in the Porkys set up a 1000' strip on the lake. Follwing are the speeds on radar and GPS for 1000' runs. These were the top 5 in the group of 15. ( the rider owned the two Polaris sleds) They did not record times.
05 Mach Z - 110
06 Apex - 109
02 XC800 - 105
05 Rev800 - 104
06 Fusion 700 - 98
The big difference was that the Mach topped out at about 700'. The same rider on all runs, temp was 17 degrees, all stock except for studs.
