Ok, I'd love to get an Apex like my buddies, but it's not in the budget. Neither are the turbo or nitrous. Other than an O/S/O primary spring, my sled is bone stock. What can I do to it, where do I get the stuff from, and who will install it (I'm technologically challenged and couldn't work with my hands to save my butt.) Please help.

we have a supertune clutch kit and a supertune filter kit, both are pretuned for your rider weight and conditions, all you do is install it and ride. clutch kit comes with adjustable primary weights set to our specs for your conditions, primary rollers, sec spring and a nickel coated multi angle secondary helix that has 5 degree adjustability. the cost is 435.00 they are in stock and ready to ship, the filter kit comes with filters, carb bezels, springs, jets, and evac kit. the cost is 265.00 and they are also in stock and ready to ship. both of them together will give you a 10 track hp increase and will beat a stock sled by 9 lengths in a 1/4 mile drag race. we also has special cdi boxes for the rx-1 that will give you two sled lengths in 1/4 mile. jeff 1-262-698-6611

kit differences
I noticed there are a few different types of kits offered from a few different places (Ulmer, Speedshop, Simons, etc.) What are the differences? Jeff what would be the advantages of getting the kit from you? Again, I'm not mechanically inclined or knowledgeable. It looks like there are a lot of options and I see words such as Supertune, ecp, etc. What would you guys that already have or have tried these things recommend?

You really can't go wrong with any of the above mentioned cluctching and other add ons. They all test their product and set stuff up to your specs.

ecp
I've also heard some not so good things about the ecp kits and that some have had decreased performance. Anyone have any feedback about this? I was just going to get an ecp and clutch kit, but maybe just the clutching would serve me best?

Some ECP kits did loose performance only because the sled was clutched for the added HP. I suggest going with Jeff Simmons. He will walk you thru any problems you may have. Plus he's not a reseller, but the guy that actually came up with the stuff :ORC
Dan,
Did you come up with the Copiers you sell? :ORC

I have also had great results from The Speed Shop. Not only did the clutch and filters work out great, the customer service was worth the money!

From looking at the speed shops website they sell alot of Simons' products so why would'nt you deal direct? I'm not trying to promote one or the other I'm just throwing it out there as a consumer.

Dan BBY does make his living off selling clutches etc have a heart.. Did Jeff really come up with the ECP kit I thought ECP stood for Eastern Cycle Performance is'nt that Supertuner? Either way all these guys are great to deal with you have your preference others may have there's the point here is your putting down one of the good guy's I have NEVER heard a bad word from anybody that has ever dealt with Matt if anyone has they would have the right to post something on it. You make it sound like if your not the guy that makes the stuff your incapable of setting it up right. Read the posts there are some very happy speedshop customers :ORC
