Every Yamaha owner must get the red fuel pump relay. I don't know why Yamaha would send all these sleds out with that crappy one that comes stock. My nytro Had a few days where it was -10 to -15 and it wouldn't start because the relay was frozen up. Couldn't imagine going on a trip somewhere overnight and then not having your sled start in the morning. SO MAKE SURE YOU ALL REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP RELAY WITH THE RED COLD START ONE! On the nytro I believe it's the 3rd one from the front end of the sled. It will save a lot of frustration!

Easiest way is to start at the front. Put your hand on top of each one and turn the key with the othe hand. You will feel the correct one "click" under your fingers. Quick and easy

I still have the black relays in my sled. Last winter was record cold around here and I never had the fuel relay freeze. The headlight relay froze once, but once the sled was running for a couple of minutes it was all good.

Ya in a garage most of the time. The garage is heated some of the time, only when im working on stuff tho. I was going to change the relay, but never had a problem so just left it.

Well mine is never inside, so once I get moisture in that relay, it doesn't dry out, it just freezes. That's why it doesn't work, becuase there are moving parts in the black relay and they freeze not allowing them to work.Ya in a garage most of the time.
