Let me tell you one thing, I should have parted mine out...not fixed. No I have a pile of money in a '03. I could have had a NEW attack for what I have in it.

Take the plastic off and see if you can weld it.
Our 600 had a bulkhead that was busted almost in half. I took the plastic off and put sevaral lbs of aluminum weld in it. Been riding it ever since.
Did you ever change your head bolts to the hardened ones?

No i did not the bulk head is not that bad, but looking to get a Apex S.C. if you know what i mean!
The headbolts were the stock junk. I know that they streached and deto was not the cause of the gasket failing. Rode sled many many miles at 12psi on pump. If i keeped the sled i would put the bigger head botls in it and turn the boost right back to 12!! HAHA

I coated my gaskets and put the hardened stud bolts in right away. Hopefully I dont have a gasket problem.
If you want to bring it over. Let me know. If I can seen it, I can fix it. Post a picture if you can.
Saturday took mine in the yard and it started spitting coolant all over. Found out the worst place to have it. Took 3 guys 2 hrs to fix.
I would say if a person can put a new hose clamp on the back of the sled..behind the motor with only 1-1/2" of clearance, 8" away...a person could fix a little aluminum???

Talk to your agent and see if you insured your sled as a "custom" with a higher dollar value than blue book. If you didn't you are probably screw!!. If you did insure it for over blue book then you will need to have a dealer establish the price of the sled with the custom parts and get an estimate for them to fix it. If you do the labor work yourself you can "pocket" that amount on the estimate for labor. If you did not have it insured as a "custom sled" then you will get nothing for the after market parts and I would take them off and put your stock parts back on, and resale the after market goodies. If you have never had a claim on your sleds before then I doubt that your insurance will go up. However, if you had claims on your home or auto that could affect you if they are with the same insurance company. It sounds to me like you have a the perfect excuse (and means) to give the wife to get a new Apex.

I yard sales a 1M 900 w/ Motorwork, Jaws Pipes, Lite Hood, Boss Seat, Mountain Machine Stuff, Fabcraft Stuff, Etc. Etc.
My policy said in the mix of all the B.S. that if the sled was modified the policy was cancelled.
Be careful what you say and point out. Ask first about a damage estimate, then ask about buying it back for scrap and parts. Do not discuss rebuilding it or how much $$ bling bling is there, they may just say your polciy is cancelled and walk away.
Read your stuff first of all...VERY VERY carefully.

Bogus, man. I was ditch banging myself Saturday and hit a rock. Not to much damage. Put a dent in the lower A-arm and dinged up my skid plate and my A-arm protectors was about all the damage I did. Hope everything works out for you. You do have another sled to ride don't you?

I found as long as you dont tell them about the mods, take it to the dealer for an estimate..Stand there an wait for them to do the estimate. Wont take long to total it, and thats all you want. Load it back up and take it home!!!! Then buy back! Only way to go with a mod sled.

Well good news!!! I have a check for $4500 and my sled back! All she needs is a head gasket and a front cooler realy the front bulk head is way minor!! So what to do?? Part it out? Fix it for about $250.00 and get a Vector? Or sell it all and get a Apex with a Blower??
