max boost

I just put in the turbosmart dual stage boost controller. Gated system. I understand it's set up to spike. I don't have my head shim yet, so if i set to 8.5lbs max. Is it going to spike a pound or two? And am I going to be safe? I know i can take the ball and spring out to prevent spiking, but it might be nice for my application

Boost spikes can Kill an engine so do everything you can to prevent it.

We don't know your set up so we can't comment on boost level.
