Wednesday night we motored into Hurley in time to hit Silver street for a few hours. We woke up to a number of inches of fresh snow
We trailered to Bessemer and rode up to Lake of the Clouds. What a great ride
Trailered to Houghton and are hitting the trails this morning at 6:30e
Woo woo there is a ton of snow.

We got on the trails to copper harbor by 6:30 and rolled just in time for breakfast. Not a soul on the trails but the groomers! Amazing!
Of course the Apex lost its speedo and was throwing code 42. So the dreaded bearing took a crap. It held till we got back to Hancock. Chad at MM powersports got me in with an email appointment! Wow what service. Great Yamaha shop! Almost 200 miles doing the loop on the Peninsula. Not terrible traffic yet. Tomorrow may be different

I meant to say I made the round trip by noon from the Root Cellar at Lake Gogebic to Copper Harbor and back by noon. I had my 300 miles for the day by noon, but I also started the trip at 2:30am. Sure made for a nice ride.

I wanna play the BS card but I respect a fellow TY member. Where the hell did you find fuel at those times of the day? These places are closed unless you packed fuel?
Lol! No BS, rode an Apex. You can get fuel even with the station closed by using the credit card at most of those gas stations. Had to do that once. Saw a groomer at 5:30 and gave him $20 for doing a good job (and I was happy to see someone). Saw my first sled at 7:00. Got gas one time on the way back at a mom and pop shop and breakfast ( mt dew and candy bar). Made it back to Bergland on that tank. I have got gas during the night like that several times on night rides. You have the trails to yourself and usually they are groomed and you can always tell when you are meeting other sleds.

Good for you! I hear ya. Our best riding was at 6:30 this morning. High speed trails and no traffic. We took turns leading because it was such a freakin hoot! I was blown away by how good it could possibly be.
Our ride back from copper down the East side through Gay was a constant stutter bump hell. All I heard was my buddy on his Pro-Ride Switchback saying, "what bumps" That I did call BS on cuz his tailight was bouncing like a Lotto ball in the airbin on Wednesday night. We did have some fun on the sand dunes outside of Gay. Deep powder fields of snow.
We are heading out early again tomorrow and probably heading south.
WOO WOO, I am a Michigan addict on one trip!

I cannot giggle more than stopping for gas in these remote locations when the Arctic Cat boyz say it is time for a fuel stop. I put on 6 gallons while they drop in 10-11 gallons! And I'm not pulling great mileage, but way better than those yahoos!
The trails have been great this year. I've got 1500 miles in so far. Headed home now because of having to goto DC for meetings. Trails were nice this trip.
If your buddies want to trailer to get closer so they don't run out of gas. Just ride yours and meet them.

We hit the South range today. Put on over 170 miles. Varied conditions from whooped out trails to super highways!!
Getting going before sun up has been the trick. The Apex is running like a top
I'm whipped now. It will be good to hit the road for home in the morning. We may have to buzz someplace for breakfast!
