got to take my warrior around the lawn today after doing all the work on it over the summer and its not running perfect yet......

starts and idles fine at about 5-6k rpms it bogs but if you give it more throttle to get past those rpms its like unleashing an animal the front end went straight up and it was gone feels wicked fast. Theres not enough snow to do anymore testing we just have like an inch and I wanted to give it a quick test.

heres what I have done:
Clean carbs
165 jets
K&N's
Red Springs
Ulmer Clutch Kit
21 tooth top gear
NGK 10EK

Cleaned the carbs the pilots were plugged of course

I had some gas left in it from last year and I topped it off with fresh.

What do you guys think I should look at first would it just be because of the old gas?

It is unlikely that it is the old gas, unless something got plugged up again. Changes affecting intake air pressure could account for it, you changed the mains, but did you do anything to compensate for the mids?

Or it could simply be that you need to run it more. How well warmed up did you get it? Was it nice and hot? It might be worth leaving for a bit, try it after running it for a decent ride with fresh gas through the system. If it clears up, you don't need to do anything ;)

If it doesn't clear up, hope you have a heated garage.

Thanks for the help here and in the other thread I didn't touch the needles so I'm going to try that. It was fully warmed up before I touch it for a ride. How hard of a job is it to change the adjust the needles? I've never done that before

Its easy.

You take the plastic cap and springs off the top of the carbs, being careful not to lose the rubber o-ring. You can then take out the sliders with their rubber diaphragm which come out with the needles. If you look in the top, you will see a white plastic cap, which can be easily gripped with needle nosed pliers. Twist and lift at the same time to remove the white plastic cap, BE CAREFUL though, there are 3 BRITTLE black plastic legs holding it. If you break a leg off, you will need to replace the slide... ~$50 each if memory serves. Under that there is a small spring, and finally the needle. There are clips and washers on the needles to adjust the height.

i just had to go through my RX-1 this week because of the same issue, the sled seemed to have zero power unless choked about half way until you hit half throttle, then you could un-choke it. even had multiple mechanic's tell me that the new "ethenol" that is in current fuel here in the great ol USofA does not store well, and goes bad after a couple months. you need to empty the tanks and drain carbs if storing over the summer, because the ethenol will seperate from the fuel over time, similar to what pre-mix does
