I have been thinking of switching to Mobile 1 oil in my Attak. After reading many threads from a search on this site I am even more confused. What weight oil should I use 0W-30 or 0W-40 or ??? Any reason to not switch to Mobile 1. Often I ride where tempretures can be as cold as -40 and the cold starting abilities appeal to me.

I'm running 0-30 this year, but I think I'll be changing to 5-30 next year simply because the zero weight is difficult to find. 5W-30 can be purchased at Wal-Mart for about $22 for 5 quarts.

i've been running 5w-30, there is really only a slight difference between 0w,5w and 10w, there was a post about it last year

I switched my 03 LE to Mobil 1 0w-40 this season.....maybe it's my imagination, but it seemed to help a little with the oil burning issue, as in longer between adding......$6.47 a qt at Walmart......still almost $2 a qt cheaper than Yamalube semi-synthetic.

Exactly, those 5 qt jugs make it easier to handle used oil for recycling too!

Not your imagination, my subaru drinks mobile 1 5 or 0w30 but 0w40 she doesn't use a drop. I'm going to run 0w40 in my RX next year as I am burning a little as well and see if it helps compared to the M1 0w30 this year.

I know in Ontario I buy Amsoil for $10 a litre, not bad for a full syn. 0w40 , don't burn a drop......

I've been using Mobil 0-40 also for the last 11,000 miles. Easy to get at our local AutoZone.
