Modified Exhaust Options ? / S/C for RX-1

I want to run the stock exhaust straight out the rear of the tunnel, just extending the pipes, removing the stock can. I was told that was "not recommended nor beneficial." Has anyone done that or have a kit other than the motorcycle can that runs up behind the seat? TJ does not have the new single pipe kit ready, or any old kits to purchase. Any help woud be appreciated. Thanks. D

You really don't want to run the straight pipe unless you have a turbo inline......1 too loud and 2 no back pressure. You could cut your pipe at the x-over, then go to any muffler shop and get a glasspack to weld on there and they sound great and shoot straigt out. Lose about 20 lbs and cost $80.
