Great explanation, at this point I'd say case closed ;)!

Hmmm, you and Dave look like you want this thread over with, alright I will make this my final post.

News from the Snell Foundation Re new standards said:
Unless Snell certified helmets satisfy local governmental demands, they cannot reasonably be sold or worn within that locality. Until now, Snell M standards and ECE 22-05, the motorcycle helmet standard currently mandatory through out England and Europe, were incompatible...

Important Differences

Significant changes to impact testing .....

This standard introduces a change in the way helmets will be tested rendering M2010 and M2005 incompatible......

No I'm saying Yamadoo's explanation said it very well. Depending on the type of impact, both helmets have there benefits.
If you want to debate this feel free lol. I just liked what he had to say thats all! Especially where he said "The best protective device we have is good judgment. " As far as i'm concerned wear any helmet and follow that advice and I would say it would be case closed wouldn't you?

I had a little get off saturday nite and banged my head hard a couple times on the rock hard snow we have. My $200 hjc snell/dot helmet is still in one piece and so is my head.

I wear a Nolan, and have been looking for something new because of the trouble getting the Nolan to unlock. The locks are metal and rather hard to unlock. It's not too bad if the helmet is on my head, but if they get locked while off my head, it's a struggle to unlock them.

Maybe I'll just keep this one.

If you hit that hard, a couple of times, then you have some liner compression and it's time to pony up another $200...the helmet has to be replaced.
