mono shock removal

Got a question about shock removal, Have the bolts out on each end and do I take the RA off the side of the tunnel or does it just unplug at the shock.Already set the RA too full hard. Don"t want to break anything. I went in the tech pages it shows suspension removal.

What about a GT, I have the same question. Where do I un-hook it at the shock or do I un-hook it beside the chain case? Do I remove the suspension bolts first, then un-hook it. I can't seem to get my hand up beside the shock to un-hook the wire with the suspension bolts in. Any help?
 
I just did this on my attak. having a floor jack and
stand makes the job very easy. I just reinstalled my shock this A.M. after a respring/revalve. I was able to do it myself easily.

Just a tip. I use a chain fall, and floor jack. I absolutely could not align the rear suspension holes until I unbolted the limiter strap. I thought disconnecting the transfer rod would do it, but it didn't help.

I had the oposite experience with mine. I found I couldn't line up the rear holes until I pulled the back bolt out of the transfer rod. Then it was simple to line up.

As far as the wire on the GT I disconnected it behind the chain case and pulled it through. That way I didn't have to cut all the cable ties off that hold the wire to the front arm.

That's what I was thinking. Disconnecting it from behind the chain case. Was it hard to feed the wire back through after?
 
To replace the rear skid bolts on the Apex what you need to do is get the front in, then remove a bolt from the transfer rod (I ussually do the rear bolt) then raise the rear of the sled slowly until everything lines up. No need to compress the susp. or anything. At least thats how it works for me.
 
I just removed my mono shock and when I went to disconnect the cable from the shock by pulling back the rubber the cable let go.I'm sending the shock for re valve tomorrow.What do I need to do with the cable?Do I need to buy a new cable or can I use the old one?The tread on the old one don't look damage.
