Been talked about many times. Many discuss the spring clip that can be in 3 different positions for more or less pre-load. I have looked at mine and don't find this on the actual shock assembly or the parts break down for the Apex ER. There is the notched pre-loader that has about 8 different heights. Mine is on the 4th step. What am I missing and where the heck is the other spring pre-loader. Would think if it's there it would be below the stepped adjuster?
Thanks for any input.

the C-Clip is under that 8 position cup. There are 3 indents in the shock body for the clip to go into. When you pull or change the spring you will understand completely.

mrance111 said:I just dropped my shock off at Shock Therapy today. After researching all the options I decided to do the re-valve route. I have heard that stiffer settings and stiffer springs just cover up the improperly valved shock and they add more rebound. I agree with n2oiroc, heavier springs are a band aid. Bob from Shock Therapy is going to re-valve for more bottom control. This will basically slow the shock starting 3/4 of the way through the travel. I will still have the smooth ride but none of the bottoming, seems like a better solution and less expensive.

You may want to re-valve instead of stiffening up the spring!!!

Both are a good idea.
