Here is where my 1/8 of an inch went. Not sure how it happened or what to do. I can't see this part of the arm warping when welded as the tubing it is welded to is a whole lot stronger than a piece of flat stock. I did have to do a bulkhead replacement as something hit my sway bar link on this affected side. Maybe this is also why I have 3 studs pulled through in one spot on the track also on the affected side; interesting...

When we build these kits there are specially cut spacers that are installed so that all kits are the same..
The reason you guys are having so many issues is becaues you are trying to install the arm without twisting the rails in or loosening the bolts that hold the rails together..
I have the same kit on my sled and i too had to pry the rails in to get the arm to line up..
We do not cut or modify the arm in any way.. all we do is weld the existing cracks and add metal gussets to the arm..
If anyone needs clarification of this or has any questions please feel free to call.. 563-542-1221 as i have no problem helping you guys out..
Thanks

Brian is right.....I took a clamp and squeezed my rails inward in the area where arm sets into....it took alittle time but when i got it in,no probs...
once all done and installed my skid looks fine in sled.

You guys are not at all worried about pulling the rails in like that? Arn't these things known to crack under twisting forces?

you arent twisting the rails...you are pulling in the steel part of skid....not effecting any alum rails.

I can't believe it is normal for the arm to require so much force to mount. Also not sure how pulling in on the steel w arm mounts doesn't apply any twisting forces to the rails. My arm is bent slightly either because of welding or an impact and thats why it didn't line up good, until I applied my own strategic bend. My arm now fits with no undue stress however it does align the front of the rails 1/16 inch to the left when installed in the tunnel. Hope that's not a problem. I did my own beef up to the w arm so it is not anybody elses fault if it warped due to welding.

Im talking about twisting the brackets that are bolted to the rails that connect to the large arm... and no you arnt going to hurt them as you wont be moving them that much.... Mine are actually twisted inwards due to the fact that im running larger bogie wheels and forcing them to twist in..
Just look at ROCKERDANs sled.. And you will see if assembled correctly you wont have any issues installing the beefed up arm.. as you shouldnt..
These arms are not built from the factory with any kind of close tollerances.. Rails could be warped, the arm could have been warped from the factory or an accident or hitting something can throw them out too..
No one can seriously expect to assemble the rear suspension without loosening the Rails from the cross shafts unless you plan on being able to twist the rails inwards towards the arms as the beef up kit can slightly change the tollerance due to addition of the beef up kit and the thickness of the powder coating..

I remove my suspension each season and inspect each part, change slider, change wheel and bearing, change all bushing when shot and this year make my rail welded and i never ad to loose cross shaft or twist the rail to put back W-ARM on slide bracket.those part are not suppose to have stress on each other.
If you have to loose cross shaft to make it fit You must correct the length of your spacer so it will fit perfect to release stress on those rail.

TLRGUY built his own beef up kit.. It was not one of mine..

Tycho998 said:Yep, My rails were over a 1/4 wider than the front pivot arm, I had to remove the collar bar then use a clamp to pull the frame rails together to get the pivot arm on. Then use spreaders to get the collar bar back in. The mounting bracket seems to be under a lot of lateral tension. I'm hoping it it just doesn't break on the first hard hit.
This is EXACTLY what happened with me! Exactly!

yeah guys, I did my own and it took some sort of impact by the PO so don't worry. Welterracer makes a fine product. In fact, send it to him as it's not worth the time to do it yourself and it gets powder coated.
