Are you able to rebuild and more importantly, revalve the stock monoshock in the 05's? I figure you are essentially "revalving" it every time you turn the adjuster dial, but can you revalve it internally to make the entire adjustment range firmer. I'm 280lbs and am looking to reduce the bottoming. I've already moved my spring preload clip to the second groove and it helps but I'm loooking for more.
Thanks and cheers.

Why not put the spring clip on the third groove? I have tested one Rx with that setting, this is quite firm, and you can move up the RA.

I'm sure that would help, but doing that really doesn't increase the rate of the spring, it just raises the initial preload. I think raising the overall dampening of the shock would have a more dramatic effect in terms of bottoming out.

I highly recommend the stronger spring. It works very well with around 280 lbs on the seat (in my case me + gear + loaded saddle bags = ~270 lbs). There is virtually no bottoming out (at least with my riding style).
I found the right setup for that weight was the strong spring with the c-clip in the 2nd position and the standard pre-load adjuster in the #2 or #3 position.
The shock is rebuildable and can be revalved, but I found the ride was great with the above setup.
