Dealer just called me and said he talked with Accessory Rep and learned that Medium Sport Windshield is now delayed until the END OF FEBRUARY .
Hope he is wrong, but this rep was spot on with delivery dates on a couple of my accessories that were backordered before.

Our has a shield constructed of cardboard and duct tape on it right now as were in the same boat. Stupid to have to do something like that but better than freezing. Absolutely the dumbest stock windshield possible. Even worse is not having them available to purchase not happy on this one. IMO they should be free at this point.

Crap I froze my butt off last night at -13f and 80mph. Looks like a high will be needed till the sport I ordered comes. Look dumb but better than freezing and I am not modifying to fit a Cat one on.

I want a goggle bag but they are back ordered till March , so I think I'm getting an arctic cat on !

The goggle bag is nice. Fit a pair of goggles, my keys, wallet and phone if you pack it right.

I called my dealer in NH to alert him of this. He then called the Yamaha Rep, the Rep confirmed that end of January is still on track for the med height sport shields. Yamaha gets the shields mid January and then ships them out so dealers get them by end of January. Atleast that is what they are saying. Even end of January sucks IMO. Riding with the low shield is useless in cold weather.
I'm on the fence whether to get a Cat shield at this point.

Anyone looking for a medium height window. Check with your dealer on the stock part # 8JP-K7210-00-00 This window comes stock on the Viper and Viper LTX. They are currently available. Retail price is a little higher than the accessory window But it is available now.

I had posted this earlier. I picked up a medium sport shield in the UP a couple of weeks ago. I used it for 50 miles and returned it. Even with ear plugs and full face helmet , the wind noise was deafening . The shape of the shield swirls the wind like a vortex to your ear drums. Anything above 40MPH was REALLY bad. I will try a Cat 7000 shield.
If your cold ride harder! I ride standing most of the time and I have no probs with the puny shield, I added the Skins hand guards cause YamahaTim was throwing ice chunks into my knuckles on the last TY ride but may go with the low pro windshield.
