alright did the steering recall, dealer said they were going to put a fan on and idler wheels since they are warped and almost sqaure.
get the sled back adn the only thing that has been done is the steering recall, but now the steering is binding up. so pretty angry at this point.
yesterday i drive it north about 60 miles, im going through some stutter bumps, about 6 inches height, and somethign instantly felt wrong. so i pull over, bounce on my sled and its completly bottomed out (spings, shocks, dampening all on stiffest setting). get to looking and both rear shocks are blown, (figured it was linkage, but linkage is fine). so i drive 2 miles like that and the dealer in greenville cant do anything for me its like talking to a wall.
so i end up driving it home 60 miles with blown shocks. now im sure my springs are toast, and we are getting a foot of snow today. nothing but problems with this phazer.
so has anyone blown the shocks completly but not broken the linkage?
sled has 1900 miles on it.

Yea that sounds about right. My sled was getting real bouncy (well at least more bouncy) around the end of the season, I took my shocks out and noticed that the front one was leaking fluid all over. That was at 1800 miles. Also at the same time I noticed that the center linkage was broken. They did the update on the link at the dealer, and I took the shocks to my guy that does my bike suspensions and he rebuilt the shocks and revalved them stiffer with slower rebound and $120 dollars later the sled rides a lot better. No more pogo stick in the back. So long story short, I think you need and rebuilt and revalve and you'll be rocking again. Your springs should be fine still. They are made to flex and bend, bottoming out shouldn't do anything to the springs, only the shocks internals.

There's no connection. I would say they're full of it!

Geeze thats a new one!Are the shocks actually blown or did the suspension just bind up?Seems odd to have both shocks blow at once.

i dont know if yamaha still does it but when my cousin was a service manager at the local dealer he use to get kick backs if he could deny a warenty job. it was like 25-30% of what the job would have cost too. so they would give him like $250 on a job if of $1000 if he could find a reason to deny it. then he could use that money well actualy like credit towrds anything he wanted as long as it was spent threw yamaha.

I have a regular phazer (07) and i beat the sled to death i blew out both my rear shocks at 1300 miles i got the sled 2 months ago... Im not going to blame the phazer for how hard i pound it but to me it sounds like you guys need better dealership's supporting you!!!!! Yamaha is crediting me for my standerd shocks and im paying the differnce for the RTX shocks!!
