Hi guys I'm considering buying a sc mountain apex and convert it into a trail sled. I have An extra zx2 skid 136 I want to put in. What do I need to consider for gearing clutching and I think the narrower front end. I have a Rtx now with a zx2 skid I wanted more power and the mountain s/c sled is a good buy is it hard to make it handle good in trails.

Bud rode Apex mountain as trail sled & welded track to hyfax so assume you will used standard ripsaw or ice ripper track. Some boggie wheels were defective back in the day but probably have been replaced by now. I don't remember problems with cornering but most sleds pushed back then.

Just look for some used short track gears and clutching.I had 2 apex mtn's I would trail ride with taller gearing and diffrent clutch weights it was a great sled. They pushed a but but if you have a zx2 skid that will work great.I do have a wide timbersled front end in great shape that would really help with the handling.

If you are selling the TS front end I would consider buying it.

Yes I'm selling it.It has very little use. It's 42" wide.It does have a slight scuff on one other then that there in great shape. $475 plus the ride
