Sorry for missing your post (I try to keep an eye on this section).
What do you mean by "mountain strap"? Maybe the guys in the Phazer Mountain section could help since a lot of stuff are common between our sleds and the Phazers.

I think that would be the strap that mounts on the handle bars to grab on to for sidehilling etc. I have a Powerdadd strap on my VL.

that is just what I'm talking about.
I have seen those on some MPs (but I don't know the brand). Last week I tried two different at local sled store but they did not fit well. They were too long.
Bomba, I think you mean PowerMadd, this one? What about the length 15", is it good?

Yeah that 's the brand - PowerMadd - I'll take a pic when i get a chance and you can judge if the length looks right for you. I can't tell for sure but mine looks a bit different than the link you have. Honestly I found that I don't use it as much as I expected. I put on bar hooks as well and found they really added to to the comfort level.

I'm guessing that you've already found a solution, but if not, here's another strap from Skinz Protective Gear. It looks like a pretty high quality unit, and I like the billet mounts. A few years ago I picked up a used handlebar from a GT that had the factory turned-down ends but no 'mountain strap,' so I added one from PowerMadd. It works pretty well, but I have found that the sheet metal mounting clamps need to be super tight to prevent it from rotating on the handlebar. Having used both the factory MTX mountain strap and the one from PowerMadd, I would say that I prefer the much more rigid factory one. The PowerMadd isn't exactly a 'wet noodle,' but definitely flexes when you pull on it, which doesn't exactly inspire confidence in my grip, especially when transitioning from one side of the sled to the other quickly. Anyway, here's a link to the one from Skinz, and a couple pics of the PowerMadd I'm using.
