Just done a 144 extension on my 08GT. I am planning to put a rack on the tunnel extension but the stock GT Tail light takes up a crap load of space the way it sticks back from the seat. I am thinking about getting a different tail light to mount on the rear of the rack or tunnel. Has anyone ever put the rear cover form a Mountain Apex on a shorty. Wondering what parts I need to do it.

When I am pondering extensions I was going to get the MTX cover that goes on the back of the seat and a nytro tailight that mounts flush on the top of the tunnel extension.

I was thinking the same. Skins have a nice little tail light assembly that bolts to the tail as well. I'm just trying to see what I need from an MTX seat to get the cover to work on my sled.

Nice sled! what kind of tunnel and skid extension do you have? and what kind of track and how does the track work?
Aah see now that you have muffinworks extension, is the tunnel extension also from them? and what lenght?
Thanks in advance!

Its a muffinworks 144 extension kit. The track is a 1.75 Backcountry track. Only just done the extension a few weeks ago with another member on here (newfieapex) so I have no idea how well it will work. Anything had to be better tan the stock ripsaw.

Ok, thank you very much for the answer. Im thinking of doing the same. 144 extension and the backcountry track. And yeah, it will probably work better than the ripsaw

If you go 1.75 you will have to remove the tunnel protectors as well.

I have a Apex Mountain rear plastic enclosure (where the tail light would go on the standard Apex). It will bolt on just fine with nothing else needed to bolt it to the seat. The only thing you may need is the wiring harness for the tail light off the Apex Mountain as it will be longer (part number 8FS-84717-20-00). If you want the rear plastic enclosure let me know. It's yours if you pay the shipping.
