Mine has the stock belly plastic aluminum spar thing and then the plastic skid overlay. Rallied up the Alligash last winter in 24-36" of fresh snow amazing conditions and risked s few whoops off what I knew where river rock mounds without incident and so smooth catching a little air got lazy and saw one I was hesitant to touch but did and bang right between the skis bounced up and launched, stopped for lunch and checked no oil dripping but cracked the outer skid plate so need some 3/16" plate down there. Only way to go.
