My Nytro RTX modification/setup review

How did your suspension settings change after the longer track was added? What state do you ride in?

Like I said, I replaced the center shock with a Ohlins when I went to the 136" track so some adjusting was necessary. I liked the the revalved stock center shock with the dual rate springs better but I think with a few modifications and a little more tweaking I'll get Ohlins working at least as good. With the extra length and the skid relocate I don't have as much transfer but it'll still lift the skis enough to get over junk if needed. I also replaced the stock a-arms with Mountaintech's 43" +2" forward a-arms shortly after installing the longer track so I'm still in the processes of getting a feel for how all the changes are working together.

I still have the Hygear dual rate springs for the stock RTX shock. They have a few dings in the coating from when they got tossed out on the trail and the crossover adjustment is gone but they're still useable. Nothing as far as parts that I'm going to get rid of unless I sell my sleds.

How much were those springs new? Do you want to sell them or should I just buy new? How do you like the new front end? I was debating doing the same thing just next year Prob as I don't have all that money now. Have you ever seen them on sale? Caught wind there may be a sale but might have missed it?

When shock blew a part was there any good parts left if you had a stock shock to go with it? Like swap valves or was all shot? How you like your sled with the setup currently? Message me details if you want to sell dual rate springs. Thanks

Great post... I too was thinking about giving up on the Nytro when I saw how easily the subframe can get tweaked... My buddy hit something with his (Grizz will remember) and tweaked it to the point it needed to be replaced! I was the first In my circle to get the subframe gussets by Grizz, I haven't looked back. Since, I've gone down to see Grizz a few more times to get mods done. I drive from Ontario across the border with my sled n trailer to get him to work on it personally because IMO his knowledge base is art and he's cool to hang out with. I don't have as many mods as listed BUT the one that Grizz has done to my 08 has totally restored my confidence in this machine!!!

My advice to anyone is... If your thinking of giving up on the sled, read through these forums and reach out to the people who post and ask all the questions. My experience is that there is no dumb question (usually) and most are willing to help and explain things in a language you'll understand.

Just my 2 cents... Thanks Grizz for all your help....

Hey Grizz sent you a pm about dual rate springs but no reply. All i want to know is do you want to sell me them? If yes how much? If no where did you buy them. I can go new as well no big deal. Would be nice to know details one way or another.

Thanks for your consideration.

Hygear suspension. Look up site. And give them a call I had both shocks done with trail pro package and they feel so much better already. Very excited for this season

Thank you for sharing the info. I asked on here and sent Grizz a message but no reply. Now I can go buy the setup new at least. Thanks for the tip

No worries, grizz is good people but a busy guy like a lot of us. Best bet is have them do all your shocks but getting close to riding season and their full package is costly but amazing. I think it's rider weight dependent also

Anyone have experience with Zbros exit shocks?

Was looking at them but since hygear is the place closest that I have doing my shocks I went with axis

I just installed a zbroz kit with exit shocks....shocks are beefy but haven't taken it for a ride yet
