I have a bunch of different skis to try on my viper this year.
One of them are skidoo pilot 6.9 skis.
My question is, what did you guys use/do to mount these skis on the viper
I do not want to cut or modify the skis because i would like to use them on other sleds if i dont like them on the viper.
I was wondering if someone has found an aftermarket rubber bumpers that fits the ski saddle and dont require a ton of modification.
I have extra yamaha, skidoo, and cat rubber bumpers
It was looking like the best option was cutting the cat rubbers.
Any input is appreciated

I just modified my stock rubber a little and it worked great. I love these skies on this sled.

Ok great.
It was looking like i could trim the nubs off the bottom of the cat rubber blocks and get them to fit but i was not sure.
I read a post on here from someone stating they used a dremmel to remove the plastic in the saddle bottom and was not sure if that was necessary or if the same thing could be acheived through cutting the rubber.
Thanks

Multi-tool with the flat plunge blade worked really easy and fast for me.

Yes just trim the rubber nubs off the cat bumpers.

Once you cut those nubs off the bottom of the cat ski rubber bumpers you end up with a rubber that looks exactly like what comes on the tuner skis.Ok great.

By multi tool. Do you mean one of these oscillating saws??
I have one of those but never thought to use it for this.
Great idea. Thank you

What size Carbide Runners are recommended for this set-up?

Its been awhile but I don't believe I did anything for my 14 which had Cat skis stock. Just sharpened the bolt a little to make it easier to get in and lined up. It was very tight because of the tight rubber but after thousands of miles the rubber is still fairly tight which is good thing. I run 7"Shapers mid,Stock Doo4"out on my 6.9's and have been thinking about shimming a little since the shapers do wear in front between the carbide pad and the sharp carbide in middle. Doo bushings stock outside position. 15,16,17 Vipers may require washer flip since they changed spacer for Tuners.

I was running 6" shaper bars on both inside and outside. Im a 129 track with like 130something studs
Worked good. But i knew there was room for improvment.
I have since switched back to cat skis with agressive snowtrackers and it handles even better.
Good luck
Also, as cannondale stated. A heavy chamfer on the bolt will make assembly much much easier

I have Sno Trackers now. I bought the sled used and these were already installed on my 2014 LTX. Looking for something different. The Sno Trackers are pretty nice, can't really complain. There is a lot going on under the ski with the Sno trackers. I feel that Low snow, gravel parking lots, etc. cause lots of drag and skis need to be aligned perfectly.

I agree, the snow trackers have a lot going on under the ski, lol, but they work.
I also had the same concerns about them as you have but after 900-100 miles they are showing very little wear or signs of damage and i ride 1/2 mile of street/tar every weekend. Plus a lot of rocky trails.
I installed rouski ski wheels last weekend just because i hate riding tar with carbides.
Like i said, the 6.9 with shaper bars worked good. I am sure you will like them, i just feel like your taking a step backwards. Just my opinion.

I have twice the miles on my Trackers and they still look good. Just feeling out some options. Any soft thawing gravel/dirt scares me though. I was unloading mine in my driveway and these trackers dug right into the gravel and stopped me on a dime. Literally had to spin the track to get moving. Scary stuff.

I just picked up the 5.7 pilot skis to run on my 2015 SR Viper. So using my stock tuner 2 ski rubbers I should be able to just cut the rubber flat on bottom? What about spacing for spindle?
